#Spain:HIJACKED BELGIANS RECOVER CAR IN TORREVIEJA

A Belgian man and wife who were quietly holidaying on Torrevieja’s beaches were completely stunned when they saw two armed criminals, who had robbed them at gunpoint in Liege, 1,200 miles away, 4 weeks earlier.

The robbers, identified as Luc Jadoul, 47, and his girlfriend Gaëlle Deloge, 20, were sunning themselves on a beach in Alicante, when the Belgian couple recognised them from the earlier incident.

Mr Jadoul and Miss Deloge had threatened the couple with a gun and hijacked their Nissan SUV while making a dramatic escape from a Belgian courthouse

A Torrevieja policeman compared the chance of such a coincidence as ‘like winning the lottery.´ Incredibly, the stolen car was also parked nearby, just yards from where the carjackers were sunbathing.

Keeping their heads and showing a "calmness" praised by the police, the holidaymakers then let down the tyres on the car and called the authorities, who made an "easy" arrest. A firearm was also recovered from the stolen vehicle.

Jadoul and Deloge are both being held in Madrid awaiting their extradition back to Belgium as the subject of an international arrest warrant.

Before becoming a fugitive, Jadoul was in prison and has multiple convictions for prostitution of a minor aged 13, violence and pimping.

On August 19, he was due to face a magistrate in the Belgian town of Seraing. But before appearing, his young girlfriend Deloge staged a romantic encounter in the corridor outside the courtroom. She had a gun hidden in her belt.

After pleading with prison guards to be allowed to embrace Jadoul, he grabbed the concealed weapon while hugging the woman.

Jadoul then threatened the guards and the pair escaped on to the street where they hijacked a car at gunpoint, before fleeing to Spain.
